The Healthcare Hospitality Network, Inc. (HHN) is a nationwide professional association of nearly 200 unique, nonprofit organizations that provide lodging and support services to patients, families and their loved ones who are receiving medical treatment far from their home communities.
Provides a variety of services to those seeking a way to travel long-distances for specialized medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
PALS: Patient Airlift Services
Patient Airlift Services arranges free air transportation based on need to individuals requiring medical care and for other humanitarian purposes. PALS has a network of volunteer pilots who provide this service without reimbursement or compensation, using their own or rented aircraft. In no case are fees of any kind charged for these services.
Generally, the individuals who utilize PALS have limited financial resources or are receiving diagnosis, treatment, or follow-up for various types of acute or chronic illnesses or conditions that make it either financially impossible or otherwise unfeasible to use public commercial or private charter transportation. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages throughout New England who have fallen into financial hardships as a result of a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that a cancer diagnosis does not put everyday living expenses on hold. That is why JAF has various assistance and wellness programs focusing on specific target areas that cancer regimens typically disrupt, leaving patients struggling to make ends meet.
Because patients and families must often devote all of their energy and resources towards battling the disease, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by delivering support through Financial Assistance, Food Security, Extraordinary Needs, and Treatment Transportation Programs, as well as (Up)Beat Events, and Mind-Body Opportunities. The Foundation’s relief removes financial barriers and allows patients to access or complete their treatment.
The Ellie fund provides essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery and healing.
Ellie Fund services include grocery gift cards, nutritious prepared/delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, childcare reimbursement, housekeeping, and integrative therapy services, free of charge. Ellie Fund is honored to assist breast cancer patients receiving treatment in Massachusetts, including patients traveling to Massachusetts for their breast cancer care.
Angel Flight East provides free flights for patients in need of medical treatment far from home. Volunteer pilots use their own airplanes and cover all costs of the flight. As long as a passenger is medically stable and ambulatory, Angel Flight East can fly them as often as needed and there is never a change. Angel Flight NE coordinates FREE air transportation for medically stable children and adults who must travel for medical care and for other humanitarian reasons. Volunteer general aviation pilots donate their planes, fuel, talents, and compassion to ensure distance is never a barrier for patients to access vital treatment and care.
